Help for the Kori Maoundé school in Mali

We thank the Waldensian Church for its 8×1000 funding for 2022 to cover room and board for approximately 300 children at the Kori Maoundé school in Mali.

In the context of significant socioeconomic instability in the area, the project aims to promote the persistence and proper functioning of the Ecole Fondamentale Helene e Philippe Leloup de Kori Maoundé and combat school dropout by supporting its students at the Bandiagara secondary school. To ensure educational continuity and quality, reduce the dropout rate, and provide proper nutrition for the approximately 300 children who attend, we plan to: – pay local teaching staff to support the few teachers paid by the ministry – purchase books and teaching materials – upgrade the photovoltaic system with new panels and batteries to meet increased energy needs – purchase food supplies and distribute nutritionally balanced meals to approximately 300 students. Providing students with complete meals within the school context promotes school attendance.
